Join the Nyumbani 26 Challenge

We hope you and your loved ones are safe and well.

Many of you have asked how you can help. Today we are inviting you, your family, and friends to take part in the national 2.6 Challenge from Sunday 26th April. With so many events and fundraising opportunities now cancelled due to the COVID-19 pandemic, event organisers in the UK have come together, creating a national campaign to generate vital support for us and thousands of other UK charities.

To support our 2.6 Challenge campaign, dream up an activity of your choice based around the numbers 2.6 or 26 to fundraise for Nyumbani UK & The Hotcourses Foundation. Or if fundraising isn’t your thing, you can make a donation! Your challenge can be any activity you like, as long as it follows government guidelines on social distancing and staying home: run 2.6 miles, cycle for 26 minutes, flip 26 pancakes, or read 26 books – whatever you fancy. Be sure to post your challenges on social media #nyumbaniuk #twopointsixchallenge, share this with your friends, and follow us.

The children in Kenya are busy dreaming up their own 2.6 Challenges and we can’t wait to share those with you. The staff are getting involved too and who knows, maybe we’ll even see some singing nuns or skipping sisters!

We are still working hard to help thousands of children in Kenya, and they need us now more than ever. The children infected by HIV still need their medication, they still need to be led in their studies while schools are closed, and many families living hand to mouth will likely need additional support with food. We don’t know what the future holds, but whatever happens we will be there to help the children of Nyumbani.

Thank you for your partnership and support for our Nyumbani children.

Help us continue to support the staff in Kenya while they work to protect and care for the children of Nyumbani from COVID-19.
